Bartender – Lalla Oceanside Seafood (Cannery Row)

Pay: $16.90 per hour (minimum wage) — plus tips and server tip-outs.
Schedule: Part-time position.
Shifts: Evening shifts only, 3–4 nights per week.

Lalla Oceanside Seafood is a contemporary seafood restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Cannery Row in Monterey. We pride ourselves on serving fresh, high-quality seafood, handcrafted cocktails, an exceptional wine selection, and delivering outstanding hospitality in a vibrant coastal setting.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Bartender to join our front-of-house team. This role is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing exceptional guest service, and helping create a welcoming, high-energy bar environment.

You'll report directly to the Lalla Oceanside Management Team and work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional service.

Schedule Requirements:

Evening shifts required.

3–4 nights per week.
Friday and Saturday night availability is required.
Sunday availability is strongly preferred.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service.
Follow drink recipes while maintaining quality and consistency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar.
Verify guest identification and comply with all California alcohol service laws.
Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff.
Complete opening and closing side work.
Maintain sanitation, safety, and health department standards.

Requirements:

2–4+ years of bartending experience required.
Strong knowledge of craft cocktails, beer, wine, tequila, mezcal, and spirits.
Professional, reliable, and guest-focused attitude.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain after hire.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
