Prep Cook Position
Location: Lalla Grill Del Monte
Job Type: Full-Time
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Weekends mandatory)
Pay: $20–$22 per hour + tips included

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates who do not meet the minimum will NOT be considered.
Minimum 2–4 years of professional kitchen experience preferred.
Previous prep cook or kitchen prep experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Formal culinary training is a plus.
Must be fluent in Spanish; English proficiency preferred.
Strong knife skills and food prep techniques.
Excellent time management and multitasking ability.
Ability to follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Valid Food Handler Card required shortly after hiring.

We’re currently hiring a dedicated Prep Cook who can keep up with a busy kitchen, maintain organization, and support the line with consistent, high-quality prep work.

Culinary & Kitchen Prep:

Prepare ingredients (chopping, slicing, portioning, marinating, etc.) for service.
Follow prep lists, recipes, and kitchen procedures accurately.
Ensure all prep is completed on time before service.
Maintain proper labeling, storage, and rotation of food (FIFO).
Keep prep stations clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards at all times.
Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.

Teamwork & Communication:

Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and chefs.
Support line cooks during busy periods as needed.
Work efficiently with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Assist in training new prep staff when assigned.
Contribute to a respectful, positive, team-oriented environment.

Professionalism & Problem Solving:

Stay focused and efficient during high-volume prep periods.
Adapt quickly to changing prep needs and priorities.
Report any food quality or safety concerns immediately.

Schedule:

Full-time (40 hours per week).
6:00 AM – 3:00 PM shifts.
